"No one can say it quite like Diane [Warren] does," Cher says. "She knows how to write songs that express emotions everyone has, but she can say it better than anyone else."

Beyoncé agrees. The multiple Grammy Award winner cut her first Warren song this year when she recorded "I Was Here" for her album 4.

"When Diane first played me 'I Was Here,' I got chills," she recalls. "My album was just about done but I knew that this song had to be on it. I knew it was going to be a very special song. It just fit where I was in my life and expressed something I believed and wanted to share.

"As an artist," Beyoncé adds, "you want your music to mean something or to help someone get through something, and when a song has a great message and meaning, it is what you strive for."

The two plan to work together again on the forthcoming remake of "A Star Is Born," starring Beyoncé, according to Warren's manager, Merck Mercuriadis.

That's delayed. Beyonce is in the process of incubating; she became pregnant, and until early next year she'll be on that project. But we are going to do it later, in the early summer.

Vous discutez de musique avec Beyoncé, que l'on va voir dans votre prochain film, un remake d'Une étoile est née ?

Elle m'a demandé si elle pouvait écrire des trucs pour le film, je lui ai dit oui, super. Mais je lui ai dit aussi que j'aimerais faire un ou deux trucs très classiques. Encore le classicisme. Mais j'espère que ce que fera Beyoncé ne sera pas classique ! Elle a une voix superbe. Elle pourrait devenir une nouvelle Sarah Vaughan ou la prochaine Ella Fitzgerald, elle a la même classe. Je ne sais pas si elle connaît leur musique mais je compte bien faire son éducation !

EXCLUSIVE: We can confirm that Tom Cruise is talking to Clint Eastwood about joining Beyonce in A Star Is Born, the Warner Bros remake. This comes after Cruise morphed into an Axl Rose-like 80s rock icon in Rock of Ages, so he’d be able to handle the singing part of that comes with playing an over the hill musician who helps launch the star of an ingenue he falls in love with and who watches him slide while her star soars. We have no idea if Cruise will say yes, or if the schedules will mesh since he’s just beginning shooting on the Joseph Kosinski-directed Oblivion, followed by the Doug Liman-directed We Mortals Are for Warner Bros. The film has drawn the interest of top talent, but it has taken a long time. Some of that had to do with Beyonce’s pregnancy, but she’s ready to shoot as soon as June. The studio at various times has discussed everyone from Will Smith to Christian Bale, Eminem and Russell Crowe, and the addition of Eastwood makes the whole thing more attractive. Deadline revealed that Cruise might take on Rock of Ages at an early stage, so who knows?
