“My meeting with Dilma Rousseff was highly positive. The President showed great enthusiasm to initiate projects in collaboration with ALAS for children aged 0 to 6 years living in poverty,” the 34-year-old Colombian singer told the press.
ALAS is a nonprofit organization created by prominent Latin American artists and business leaders to promote early childhood development.
Shakira also congratulated the President for a new program dedicated to building 6,000 kindergartens and preschools in the South American country by 2014.
